Real Foods Market Associate Nelssie Flores

Several years ago, Nelssie Flores was a full-time student in a culinary arts program when she saw a job advertised in the Real Foods Market newsletter. She liked the flexible schedule and the other associates, but they best part of the role was the chance to create and prepare recipes for Real Foods Market Cafe in Orem.

”I love how Redmond cares about having the best food and experience for their customers and their employees,” Nelssie said. ”Real Foods Market doesn’t take shortcuts with our food. Redmond gives back to its employees and works with you to help you contribute your best. It has been a lot of fun.”

Her love for healthy food comes naturally. Raised in Northern Mexico, Nelssie fondly remembers warm, home-cooked meals that brought her family together. She still loves connecting with others over healthy meals, which is something she loves about her role with Real Foods Market.

When she isn’t cooking, Nelssie’s interests are as colorful as her favorite recipes. An avid Real Barcelona fan, she’ll be cheering for Spain in this year’s World Cup tournament. She also loves to spend time outdoors and stay fit — recently, Insanity exercise videos have been taking over her DVD player. She also loves to learn — with her degree behind her, she’s looking forward to more free time to catch up with her favorite books.

This spring, Nelssie finished earning a food science degree from Brigham Young University and accepted a new role, managing the cafe in the Sugar House market. She’s looking forward to new challenges and opportunities to grow with the cafe.
